It looks like the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team is heating up at the perfect time.
After dropping four in a row, the Lakers made it two straight wins as they shut down the Brock Badgers and came away with a 2-1 victory Saturday night on the road.
All the offence came from
Jetta Derenoski, who scored twice, set up by
Kaley Tienhaara both times.
Derenoski scored twice in the first period, before the five minute mark and just after the midway point of the period to put Nipissing up 2-0.
The score remained that way until the third period when Brock scored early while on the power play.
The Lakers would clamp down from there and hold on for the victory and full three points.
Danika Ranger finished with 16 saves, while Nipissing fired 24 shots at the Badgers net.
Nipissing returns home for their final two games of the regular season, hosting Guelph and Brock this weekend.
