GAMEDAY STAFF

EMPLOYMENT DATES: September 2019 to April 2020
HOURS OF WORK: Average 10 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $14.00/hour plus Vacation Pay

JOB DESCRIPTION: Game day staff is responsible for making sure Lakers Athletics events run smooth and effortlessly for our student-athletes and fans.
• We have a handful of sports and positions to choose from: Basketball, soccer, and volleyball are all held on campus, while our hockey games take place at North Bay Memorial Gardens.
• Positions range from anywhere from 10 to 40 hours a month and run from September until February.                  
 
DUTIES INCLUDE: Statisticians (computer program), scoreboard operator, shot clock, scoresheet, caller, stats board, sweepers, announcers, admissions staff, camera operators, DJ, clean-up crew.
• All training will be done in the pre-season by qualified employees and schedule will be set up for the season, which will include all games/events.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

FRONT DESK STAFF

JOB DESCRIPTION: The front desk staff will be responsible for maintaining and assisting in the operation and day-to-day workings of the Athletic Centre. Reporting to the Athletic Technician and Athletic Coordinator, the successful applicants will help in set-up and tear-down of equipment for varsity events (games, practices, tournaments), as well as internal and external bookings that require any form of equipment usage.
• The position will also require to applicants to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the building and general presentation of the facility.           
 
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Setting up and tearing down all three gyms, fitness studios and turf field for varsity, internal and external events
• Helping with clean-up/maintaining the cleanliness of the facility
• Preparing for incoming events; varsity, internal and external
• General assistance to the Athletic Technician and Athletic Coordinator in the operation of the RJS Athletic Centre

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate for this position is full of school spirit. With an enthusiastic attitude, you will engage sports fans as Louie the Laker at varsity home games and other events within the community.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Dressing in LOUIE THE LAKER COSTUME at Varsity Home games to engage the fans
• Promoting Varsity Athletics at games and within the community

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be an enthusiastic "people person"
• Must be reliable
• Available for shifts during varsity home games (including weekend and evening shifts)
• Must be able to travel to local sporting venues

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

STARTING WAGE: $19.23 plus Vacation Pay per hour  

Job Description:
• 
The instructor will be asked to run their own Yoga classes in a positive and friendly environment located inside the Nipissing University Athletic Centre.

Minimum Requirements:
• Must be a Certified Yoga Instructor
• A minimum of 1-year proven yoga teaching experience
• Group training experience preferred
• Flexible with availability- at least 2 or 3 times a week
• Responsible for finding subs for assigned classes they cannot teach
• Instructors are required to sign-in for each class and indicate the number of participants
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Friendly and positive personality that is 100% team oriented
