Coming off a loss in their season opener, the Nipissing Lakers lacrosse team bounced back nicely to earn their first victory of the 2019 CUFLA season.

Leading from the get-go, the Lakers used a big second half to blow the game open and claim the 15-7 victory over the visiting Carleton Ravens.

After the first, Nipissing held a slight 3-2 lead and extended that advantage to 7-6 at halftime as both teams posted four goals in the second quarter.

A hot start to the third frame saw the Lakers jump ahead 10-6 as they looked to secure their first victory of the young campaign.

After three, Nipissing led 12-6 thanks to a quick start and a very strong push on offence.

In the fourth, Nipissing padded their lead and continue to push the pace, adding to their advantage, ultimately claiming the win by a final of 15-7.

Next up, the Lakers host the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday evening.

Game time is set for 7pm at Nipissing Field.
