It wasn't the outcome the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team was hoping for, as they continue to fight for a post-season spot in the East Division.
The Lakers fell 6-1 to McGill on the road in Monteal Saturday night in the lone game of their weekend.
Nipissing trailed 2-0 after one period of play and after a scoreless second, the Lakers were still within striking distance in the third.
McGill extended their lead to 3-0 before the Lakers replied.
Jacob Hickey had the lone Nipissing goal, assisted by
Deverick Ottereyes.
After the Lakers got on the board, McGill sealed the win, scoring three times late in the period as Nipissing pushed to get back in the game.
The Lakers are back in action this weekend as they host McGill Friday night and Concordia Saturday at Memorial Gardens.
Both games are set for 7:30pm.
