Box Score 2 It was a low scoring weekend for the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team, but it was a successful weekend.
The Lakers picked a pair of victories, 1-0/SO over the Western Mustangs Saturday and 4-1 over the Windsor Lancers Sunday, both on the road.
In the first game of the weekend,
Chantelle Sandquist did most of the work and
Ashley Taciuk scored the only goal of the game in the 11th round of the shootout to give Nipissing the win.
Sandquist made 37 saves in regulation and overtime and another 11 in the shootout to pick up the shutout, while Taciuk scored the winner.
The Lakers fired 40 shots of their own through regulation and overtime, plus another 11 in the shootout.
On Sunday against the Lancers,
Malory Dominico led the way with a pair of goals to propel the Lakers to the win.
Dominico scored the first and third goals, while
Britney Zack potted the game-winner midway through the first period.
Zack also had an assist, giving her a two-point game.
The Lakers led 3-0 after one period of play thanks to Dominico's pair and Zack's tally.

Maria Dominico,
Jetta Derenoski,
Maggie McKee,
Stacey Henshaw and
Ava Keis all earned assists.
Windsor replied in the second, but Nipissing sealed the deal with an empty-netter late in the third.
Marilyn Fortin made no mistake securing the full three points for the Lakers.
Danika Ranger made 22 saves for the victory.
Next up, the Lakers return home to face the York Lions Friday night.
Game time is 7:30pm at Memorial Gardens.
