MEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS DROP A PAIR TO MCMASTER ON THE WEEKEND

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team is always in the mix, but this past weekend, weren't able to breakthrough.

On Friday, the Lakers dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to the McMaster Marauders and on Sunday, Nipissing was shut-out by a final of 4-0 in Hamilton.

In North Bay, McMaster scored an early goal at the 12-minute mark and held a 1-0 lead until the hour mark of the game.

The Marauders would go up by a pair at the 61-minute mark before the Lakers replied just over 10 minutes later.

Mladen Ruzic found the back of the net on a penalty shot to cut into the McMaster's lead, but it wasn't enough for Nipissing.

Sunday afternoon in Hamilton, it was all McMaster.

They scored an early marker to go up 1-0 and added three goals in the second half to put the gam away.

The first tally came at the 8-minute mark and the next two came 13 minutes apart early in the second half.

The scoring wrapped up with a late marker just prior to the final whistle.

The Lakers will wrap up the regular season this weekend with a home-and-home against the Toronto Varsity Blues.

Nipissing will host Toronto Friday at 7:30pm at Nipissing Field, before capping off the regular season Sunday in Toronto.
