Box Score The Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team closed out the home portion of the regular season at home Friday night with a clash against the Toronto Varsity Blues.
While they put in a full 90 minutes and refused to quit, despite trailing, the Lakers did come out on the wrong end of a 3-1 decision, falling to the Blues.
Toronto got on the board first, scoring on a penalty shot to go up 1-0 near the 15-minute mark of the opening half.
The Blues added to their lead, making it 2-0 and took that advantage into the first half break.
In the second half, Toronto padded their lead, scoring a third goal off the rush, in the 65th minute.
Nipissing would get on the board late as
Jack Collins continued his strong season, finding the back of the net, but it wasn't enoug in the end.
After the full 90, it was Toronto who claim the victory and the full three points.
The teams head to Toronto Sunday for a rematch, as the Lakers wrap up the regular season.
Kickoff is set for 2:30pm in Toronto.
