Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team is off to a great start after earning two more wins on the weekend.
After a season opening win at home, the Lakers hit the road and headed west to take on the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie this past weekend.
Thanks to two strong outings – 4-1 and 7-0 wins – the Lakers improved to 3-0 and tied for the division lead early in the season.
Four different goal scorers helped the Lakers take the first matchup.
Cedric Devos,
Tyrell Chambers,
Daniel Kasongo and
Jack Collins all scored, while Collins also added an assist for Nipissing.
Sunday, Nipissing scored three times in the first half and four more in the second to claim the win.
Astel Essindi and
Arjun Kahlon with two scored in the first, while
Deven Doodnath,
Elias Goritsas with a pair and Collins tallied in the second.
Collins also had three assists in the win, earning a total of six points on the weekend.
Ryan Miners was in net for both wins.
Nipissing has outscored their opponents 14-1 during their hot start.
Up next will be a matchup with the Ryerson Rams Friday evening.
Game time is set for 7:30pm at the Nipissing Turf Field.
