Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer remained perfect through their first two weekends of play, improving to 3-0.
After a win at home, the Lakers claimed a pair of victories on the road this past weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, defeating the Algoma Thunderbirds 3-0 Saturday and 5-0 Sunday.
On Saturday,
Jessica Emmerton,
Hannah Gowland and
Ashley Mlinaric all found the back of the net,
Abby Wroe had an assist, while
Mykaela Volpe and
Joy Simpson shared the shutout in goal.
Sunday, to wrap up the weekend, the Lakers continue their strong start, posting a handful of goals.
Mlinaric tallied twice, while Jen Milligan,
Sabrina Chabot and
Madison Stea all added singles in the team's third straight shutout victory.
Mlinaric, Milligan,
Samantha Brooks,
Alanna Delle Monache and Kennedy Atwell all earned assists during the victory.
After three games, the Lakers have yet to surrender a goal and have scored 15 in total.
Up next will be a matchup with the Ryerson Rams Friday evening.
Game time is set for 5pm at the Nipissing Turf Field.
