Box Score The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team faced an important weekend as they look to secure both a playoff position, as well as homefield advantage.

The Lakers played host to the TMU Bold Saturday afternoon, looking for a big three points.

In the end, it was a late Lakers goal that earned them a 1-1 tie, giving each team a single point.

The Lakers controlled play in the first half, out-chancing and outplaying the Bold, but were unable to capitalize on a handful of quality chances.

The game's first goal came from TMU, scoring less than a minute into the second half.

They led until the 83rd minute, when Lakers veteran Jessica Emmerton found a loose ball and tapped it into the net, evening things up.

Neither team managed many chances in the final 10 minutes of the game, with both settling for the tie.

With the draw, Nipissing is now 3-0-2 in their last five games, with two more on the schedule before the post-season.
