Box Score With homefield advantage on the line, the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team was looking for a big effort.

Hosting the Toronto Varsity Blues, the winner of Sunday's game would clinch a spot in the top four, ensuring a home playoff game in a few weeks.

After a tight battle, it was the Lakers coming away with the 1-0 victory to secure their first round location.

Nipissing got the start they were looking for, scoring early on.

Isaac Ajani buried the game's opening goal to put the Lakers up 1-0 – a lead they would hold through the halftime break.

In the second half, despite a strong push by the Varsity Blues, Nipissing held on and picked up the win and full three points.

Gabe Pastore was busy in net, especially in the second half, posting a clean sheet in the victory.

Up next, the Lakers close out the regular season against the division leading Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
