MEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS DROP TWO TOUGH DECISIONS

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 It wasn't the weekend the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team had in mind when they hit the road for a pair of games.

The Lakers dropped two tough 1-0 decisions, falling to the Trent Excalibur Saturday afternoon and the division-leading Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, Sunday in Oshawa.

Nipissing entered the weekend with a 4-1-0 record and now sit 4-3-0 with five games left on the schedule.

Saturday, the lone goal of the game came with just six minutes left in regulation, as Trent found the back of the net for the upset victory.

Nipissing fired 11 shots, with eight being on target, but were unable to find the back of the net.

It was a similar story Sunday, as Nipissing played a strong 90 minutes, but were unable to score.

The Ridgebacks only goal came early in the second half, at the 52-minute mark, giving them the win.

The Lakers will look to get back on track with a road trip this weekend, taking on the Queen's Gaels Friday and the RMC Paladins Saturday.

Both games are set for 2:15pm in Kingston.
