WOMEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS ELIMINATED BY FIRST-PLACE GAELS IN ROUND 2

Box Score Another impressive Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team season came to an end Sunday afternoon in Kingston.

The Lakers dropped their Round 2 matchup with the Queen's Gaels on the road, falling 4-0, eliminating them from the OUA Playoffs.

The Lakers were coming off a thrilling extra time victory over the Carleton Ravens in Round 1 in Ottawa and were looking for another upset.

Unfortunately the top-ranked Gaels had different plans.

The Gaels scored twice in the first have and twice in the second to pick up the win, despite Nipissing firing eight shots at the Queen's net, with three hitting the target.

Queen's had 15 of their own, with 10 forcing Lakers goalkeeper Taylor Mitchener to come up big.

She finished with six saves.

Nipissing finished fifth in a very competitive OUA East Division, with a record of 7-3-2 and earned a Round 1 victory before falling to the Gaels to close out their season.
