In the end, Saturday's final went to the Gee Gees, who claimed the victory by a final of 73-45.
The opening quarter saw the Lakers get off to a strong start, dictating the play early and shooting well on the offensive side of things.
Despite trailing 9-8 early, the Lakers stormed back to grab a lead of 18-15 after 10 minutes.
Ottawa outscored Nipissing 7-0 early in the second quarter to take a 22-18 lead over the Lakers midway through the quarter.
Nipissing hung tough down the stretch in the first half, but it was Ottawa who took a lead to the break, up 32-25 after 20 minutes of play.
Much like Friday night, the Gee Gees used a big third quarter to separate themselves from the Lakers as they built up a 56-33 lead, outscoring Nipissing 24-8 in the quarter.
The Lakers held their own in the fourth, but didn't have enough left in the tank to mount a comeback as the Gee Gees added to their advantage, winning the quarter 17-12 and ending the weekend with the win.
Devisha Binns led the Lakers offence with 12 points while
Nicole Budd added 11 in Saturday's contest.
The Lakers wrap up their home schedule next week, hosting the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Friday night.
The game is the inaugural Shoot for Change Anti-Racism Game and tip-off is set for 5pm at the RJ Surtees Athletic Centre.
