Box Score It would be tough to script a better start for the Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team.

A day after a lopsided 11-0 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs, the Lakers made it a perfect weekend thanks to a 2-0 triumph over the Vees on the road Sunday.

While it wasn't the blowout win they orchestrated Saturday at home, the Lakers got the job done thanks to two second half goals.

After heading into the break tied 0-0, the Lakers got goals from Samantha Brooks just two minutes into the half on a penalty kick.

Brooks made no mistake, scoring her second of the weekend – a goal that turned out to be the winner.

Nipissing sealed the win with a late goal as newcomer Avery Cafaro found the back of the net for her third of the weekend, ensuring the Lakers would grab the full three points, moving to 2-0.

Taylor Mitchener posted two clean sheets, finishing with a total of two saves in her two shutout wins.

Next up, the Lakers hit the road and head to the nation's capital to take on Carleton Saturday and Ottawa Sunday.
