WOMEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS SUFFER TWO 1-0 SETBACKS ON THE ROAD

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer teams had a pair of setbacks this weekend, dropping two, 1-0 decisions in the nation's capital.

Despite outplaying the Carleton Ravens and in tough against the country's number four team, the Ottawa Gee Gees, the Lakers were unable to come away with a positive result.

Saturday, Nipissing outshot the Ravens 5-1, but it was a Ravens tally at the 16-minute mark that proved to be enough and stood up as the winner in the contest.

The following day, to wrap up the weekend, the Lakers battled the Gee Gees in a very competitive and exciting affair.

The teams combined for 13 shots, with the Gee Gees putting 11 on net, while the Lakers had two.

Taylor Mitchener made 10 saves, allowing just one goal in the 10th minute.

Unfortunately, the lone Gee Gees goal was enough, as they topped Nipissing to claim the three points.

Next up, the Lakers host the Queens' Gaels Sunday afternoon, with kickoff scheduled for Noon.
