The Nipissing Lakers lacrosse team has been snake-bitten this year.
The Lakers was unable to get their offence in gear again this past weekend, dropping a tough 11-2 decision to the Queen's Gaels Saturday night at Nipissing Field.
Nipissing held on thanks to their defence early in the game, but ran out of gas late and dropped to 0-5 on the season.
The Gaels led 3-1 after one quarter, with
Carter Tait scoring the lone Nipissing goal of the half.
Queen's extended their lead to 5-1 at halftime thanks to a pair of tallies in the second frame.
Once again, the Gaels outscored the Lakers 3-1, this time in the third quarter, as they expanded on their lead, going up 8-2 after three.
Will Ferguson found the back of the net for Nipissing in the third.
Three more goals in the final quarter sealed the win for the Gaels, as they picked up the win and two points.
Next up, the Lakers hit the road and take on the Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday in Ottawa, before finishing up the weekend with a rematch against the Gaels, Sunday in Kingston.
