Box Score The Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team enters this weekend having won three of their last five games and two of their past three.

They hit the court Saturday night for their only game of the weekend, hosting the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

Nipissing put in a complete game and dominated from start to finish, coming away with a big victory, winning by 28, 75-47.

The Lakers got off to a very strong start, grabbing an early lead and holding a six-point advantage after the first quarter, leading 18-12.

A high scoring second quarter saw the teams combined for 40 points as Nipissing extended their lead.

The Lakers piled up 24 points in the second and took a 42-28 lead into the halftime break in search of their fifth victory of the season.

Up 14 to begin the third quarter, the Lakers kept pushing the pace and once again put up a big quarter, adding to their already solid lead.

Nipissing put up 22 more points and ended the third up 64-40, a healthy lead as the game moved into the fourth and final quarter.

Just shy of the midway point of the fourth, the Lakers lead Lakehead 68-45 as Nipissing remained firmly in the driver seat.

From there, they cruised to a lopsided win, dominating the entire 40 minutes of action and finishing with the 75-47 win.

Megan McCarter had a monster game, posting 30 points to lead the Lakers offence. Sophie Milner added 10 in the win and Krystal Osburn had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Next up, the Lakers host the Brock Badgers Friday night before hitting the road for a game against the Guelph Gryphons Sunday afternoon.
