Box Score Looking to bounce back after a strong effort, but tough loss, the Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team fell short on the road Sunday afternoon.
The Lakers dropped the decision, falling 77-65 to the Guelph Gryphons Sunday.
Nipissing started slow and found themselves down 19-7 after the opening quarter, but did manage to fight back in the second.
The Lakers closed the gap after trailing in the first, but still had work to do, as they were down 32-23 at the halftime break.
A strong third got the Lakers a little closer, but the Gryphons pulled away in the fourth, sending the Lakers to their second loss of the weekend.
Megan McCarter had 18 points to lead the Lakers, while
Krystal Osburn added 17 in the contest.
Nipissing is back in action next weekend facing Laurentian both on the road and at home.
The Lakers head to Sudbury Friday before returning home for Saturday's matchup.
