Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team didn't get the results they wanted on their first road trip of the season, despite a strong effort in both games.
The Lakers outshot the Windsor Lancers in both contests, including peppering the net with 44 shots Saturday afternoon, but fell by a final of 4-2 Friday night and 4-1 Saturday.
In the first game of the weekend, Nipissing fell behind 2-0 in the opening 10 minutes of the period before replying.
Reilly Mayne got Nipissing back in the game, scoring on the power play.
Tyson Tomasini and
Kyle Foreman set up the Lakers goal.
After a scoreless second, Nipissing climbed within one, striking before the midway mark of the third frame.
Harrison Caines found the back of the net, with assists going to
Charles Farmer and
Parker Bowman.
Unfortunately, that's as close as the Lakers would get, as Windsor added a goal less than three minutes later and held on to pick up the win.

On Saturday, to wrap up their first road trip, the Lakers poured on the pressure all game, but were snake-bitten.
Windsor once again jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Lakers replied.
Charlie Johnson found the back of the net on the power play to pull Nipissing within one, but two late Lancers goals put the game away.

Reece Proulx finished with 27 saves.
Nipissing fired 44 shots at the Lancers net, but a hot goaltender stole the win for Windsor.
Next up, Nipissing returns home for a pair of games, as they host the York Lions Friday night and Concordia Stingers, Saturday.
Both games are set for 7pm at Memorial Gardens.
