The Nipissing Lakers lacrosse had a tough outing Sunday afternoon at home, falling to the Guelph Gryphons.
The Lakers were slow out of the gates and couldn't keep pace with the Gryphons, eventually losing 14-1 in their lone game of the weekend.
The Lakers trailed 2-0 after one and 5-1 at the halftime break.
Guelph put the game away in the second half, scoring four more goals in the third quarter and adding three in the fourth to seal the win.
Jesse Ashkewe had the lone Nipissing goal, set up by
Myles Shorey.
Nipissing hits the road for their next three, heading to Toronto and Laurier this weekend, then to Sudbury the following weekend to take on Laurentian.
They'll wrap up the season at home on Oct. 21 against Laurier.
