The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team enjoyed yet another impressive campaign, earning multiple accolades throughout the season.
They were nationally ranked, advanced to the post-season and the second round of the OUA Playoffs and wrapped up the year with a 7-3-2 record, as well as going 1-1 in the playoffs.
On top of team success, three member of the program received all-star nods for their fantastic individual seasons.
Cassidy Brooks,
Jennifer Milligan and
Rylee Traicoff have all been named OUA First Team All-Stars for the 2023 season.
Cassidy Brooks
Brooks led the team in goal with 11, putting her fourth in the OUA. She also sat third in shots with 38 through 12 games.
She had four multi-goal games, including a hat-trick in the season opener.
Of her 11 tallies, three were game-winners.
The Belfountain, ON product scored her 20th career goal this season and set a new career-high with her 11 goals.
Jennifer Milligan
The veteran continued her impressive career with another noteworthy season.
She sat fifth in the OUA with seven assists and added four goals for 11 points in 12 games.
She had two multi-point games, including a three point effort in a win over Ontario Tech, on top of two points against Trent.
Hailing from Strathroy, ON, Milligan has started 34 straight games and has 39 points, including 19 goals in that time.
Rylee Traicoff
One of the league's top defenders, Traicoff was a rock on the backline for the Lakers this season.
Her transition play, along with her speed gave the Lakers strength defending, but also advancing the ball to the forwards.
While her defence is highlighted, Traicoff did manage a pair of goals this season, which included a game-winner in the second game of the season against TMU.
In her 37 total games, the Whitby, ON native has surpassed 2,500 minutes played and has been a great fit for the team.
This marks the second consecutive season these three are named OUA all-stars.
