Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team kept rolling this past weekend, earning a pair of victories on the road.
The Lakers edged the TMU Bold 2-1 in a shootout Friday night, then claimed a 4-1 win Saturday afternoon to complete the weekend sweep and make it six wins in a row overall.
In the first game of the weekend,
Kara Den Hoed scored in regulation and
Abby Lunney scored in the shootout, while
Chantelle Sandquist made 17 saves in the game and three more in the shootout to earn the victory.
Nipissing outshot TMU 48-18 in Friday's contest.
The following day,
Madison Desmarais,
Emma Neff, Den Hoed and
Emma Thomas all scored for the Lakers, while Sandquist was strong once again, making 23 saves.
With two more wins, the Lakers are now 8-1-0 on the season, good for first place in the OUA.
Nipissing will return home for a pair of home games on the weekend, hosting Western Friday and Windsor Saturday.
Game times are 5pm both nights.
