Box Score The Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team keeps rolling.
The Lakers picked up their seventh straight win and improve to 5-0-0 on home ice after a 4-1 win Saturday evening over the Windsor Lancers.
The win completes a perfect weekend for Nipissing, as they topped Western Friday night as well.
Nipissing scored twice in each of the first two periods, basically locking up the win in the first 40 minutes.
Madison Laberge provided all the offence in the opening frame.
She scored her third of the year shorthanded, assisted by her sister
Elizabeth Laberge less than five minutes into the period.
With just over five minutes to go, she added her fourth of the campaign.
Assists on the second goal went to
Ashley Taciuk and
Katie Chomiak.
A pair of goals in the second by the Lakers all but sealed the win.
Maggie McKee buried her third of the season, while
Madison Desmarais potted her fifth to put Nipissing up 4-0.
Megan Hayhurst and
Malory Dominico drew assists on McKee's tally, while
Kara Den Hoed had the lone assist on the final Lakers tally of the evening.
Windsor would score the only goal of the third, but it was too little and too late for a comeback.
Chantelle Sandquist made 22 saves in the victory, while the Lakers continued to pepper the net, firing 38 shots at the Lancers goal.
The Lakers are back in action next weekend when they hit the road to take on Windsor and Western once again.
