Box Score The Nipissing Lakers fell short in their first half finale, settling for a weekend split with the Laurentian Voyageurs.
After a solid win Friday night at home, the Lakers came up short Saturday, losing 73-60 in Sudbury.
Nipissing started very well, up 14-4 after the opening quarter.
They weren't able to sustain their control of the game, however, as Laurentian dominated the second quarter and took a 30-29 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Laurentian took control of the game, outscoring Nipissing 25-12.
The Lakers tried to battle back in the fourth, but it wasn't enough, as they fell by 13.
Taryn Gauthier led the Lakers with 17 points, while
Dominique Bouchard had 14,
Megan McCarter added 11 and
Sophie Milner scored 10 in the contest.
The Lakers will be back in action in January to resume the OUA season.
