MEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS COME UP SHORT IN A PAIR OF ROAD GAMES

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 It wasn't the road trip the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team had in mind when they hit the road and headed to Toronto.
The Lakers dropped a pair of games – 8-0 to the TMU Bold and 1-0 to the Toronto Varsity Blues – on the team's first two games away from home in the young season.

Saturday Loss vs. TMU
The Lakers were unable to keep pace with the Bold Saturday, as TMU potted a pair of goals in the first half, leading 2-0 after 45 minutes.
They exploded for six tallies in the second half, putting the game away within the first 12 minutes.
The loss was Nipissing's first of the season after they started the year 2-0 the previous weekend.

Sunday Loss vs. Toronto
In a much improved game, the Lakers and Blues played over an hour of even soccer before Toronto was able to take advantage of a corner kick.
Just seconds before the 73rd minute, the Blues pounced on a corner kick and found the back of the net, scoring what stood up as the game's lone goal and the winner.
Ryan Miners was strong in net, finishing with six save for Nipissing, but the offence wasn't able to breakthrough.

Looking Ahead
The Lakers will hit the road again, heading to Ottawa and Kingston next weekend as they face the Carleton Ravens Saturday and wrap up their four game road swing on Sunday against the RMC Paladins.
