Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team rebounded from their first loss of the season this past weekend, as they earned a split in a pair of road games.
The Lakers dominated but came up short in Ottawa Saturday, losing 1-0 to the Carleton Ravens before moving on to Kingston where they cruised to a 4-0 victory over the RMC Paladins to wrap up the weekend.

Saturday Loss vs. Carleton
Despite peppering the Ravens net with 10 shots, the Lakers were unable to capitalize and were held scoreless through 90 minutes.
The lone goal of the game came in the 63rd minute as the Ravens managed to beat Lakers goalkeeper
Taylor Mitchener as they held on for the remaining half-hour to pick up the three points.

Sunday win vs. RMC
Nipissing was able to bounce back quickly after a tough loss, scoring early and often to earn a weekend split.
Courtney Poelman picked up her first OUA goal just over three minutes into the game and although they added three more, the game's first tally proved to be the game-winner.
Jennifer Milligan scored eight minutes later and
Cassidy Brooks buried her sixth of the season at the 20-minute mark to put the Lakers up 3-0.
Annika Nolte earned assists on Nipissing's second and third goals, grabbing a pair of points in the win.
Avery Cafaro capped off the scoring with her first of the season at the 70-minute mark, making it 4-0 Lakers.
Jessica Emmerton grabbed the assist on the final goal of the game.
Madison Heeley earned the clean sheet for the Lakers.

Looking Ahead
Nipissing returns home for a pair of games this weekend as part of Nipissing University's Homecoming weekend.
Saturday, the Lakers take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at noon and wrap up the weekend in a rematch against the Ravens.
Game time for both matches is noon at the Nipissing Turf Field.
