Box Score The Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team had a tough test at home Saturday to begin a pair of games in North Bay as part of Nipissing University Homecoming.

The Lakers controlled most of the game and had the better chances, but came up short, falling 1-0 to the visiting Ontario Tech Ridgebacks and move to 3-4-0 on the season.

The Ridgebacks opened up the scoring, finding the back of the net on a corner kick just before the clock hit the 40-minute mark.

Nipissing led on shots and shots on goal, but were unable to capitalize and trailed by a goal at halftime.

In the second, more pressure and more chances had the Lakers knocking on the door, but a pair of posts along with a few missed chances and near-misses kept them off the scoreboard.

Nipissing outshot Ontario Tech 8-3, but came up short on the scoreboard.

Next up, the Lakers host the Carleton Raven Sunday at 2:15pm to wrap up the weekend.
