WOMEN'S HOCKEY: LAKERS FALL TO LIONS IN SECOND HALF OF HOME-AND-HOME

Box Score The Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team had to settle for a weekend split versus the York Lions after Sunday's contest.

Coming off a win Friday night and a re-scheduled game that finally took place Sunday afternoon, the Lakers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Lions in Toronto.

The Lions found the back of the net in the Abby Lunney scored a shorthanded marker to tie things up.

Madison Desmarais grabbed the helper on Nipissing's goal.

The Lions retook the lead late in the second and added a goal in the third to come away with the win, bouncing back from a 3-2 overtime win for Nipissing Friday in North Bay.

Chantelle Sandquist finished with 25 saves for the Lakers, while Nipissing fired 36 shots at the York net.

Nipissing will be back on the road next weekend, facing Laurier Saturday night and Waterloo Sunday afternoon.
