The Lakers host the TMU Bold for a pair of games this weekend, beginning Friday night on home ice.
A late surge by the Bold gave them a 6-2 win over Nipissing to begin the weekend.
In a busy first period, the Bold struck first, scoring less than two minutes into the game to go up 1-0.
The Lakers responded with a pair of goals before the end of the period.
Kyle Foreman buried his sixth of the year, tying things up on the power play, with assists going to
Charles Farmer and
Harrison Caines.
All three players remain on fire this year and continue to pile up points.
David Campbell found the back of the net for the second time this season with under five minutes to go in the opening frame, putting Nipissing up a goal.
Reilly Mayne and
Jonathan Rees grabbed helpers on the go-ahead goal.
TMU answered in the second, tying the game up at the 6:22 mark.
They added a late marker to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
TMU closed things out in the third, scoring three times to skate away with a victory.
Zach Roy made 27 saves for the Lakers, while Nipissing managed 25 shots.
The two teams are back at it Saturday night, with puck drop set for 7:30pm at Memorial Gardens.
