All good things come to an end and that was the case Saturday, as the Warriors edged the Lakers 2-1 to snap Nipissing's outstanding streak.
The Warriors were first on the board, as the Lakers found themselves in unfamiliar territory, trailing in a game.
The game's first goal came at the 4:04 mark of the first period and remained the only tally on the board through the first 40 minutes of play.
Shots heavily favoured Nipissing, 27-15, after two periods.
Despite the advantage in shots and chances, it was the Warriors who capitalized, making it 2-0 early in the third period.

The goal came unassisted with just over 12 minutes to go in the third.
While they pushed and peppered the Warriors net with shots, they were unable to find another goal, as the Lakers suffered a tough one goal loss.
Chantelle Sandquist turned aside 20 shots in the contest for the Lakers, as they fired 40 at the Waterloo net.
Nipissing plays a home-and-home with the York Lions next weekend, at home Friday night and in Toronto Saturday afternoon.
