The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team is excited and proud to announce the addition of their latest recruit, strong two-way forward, Danny Akkouche.

Akkouche had a very strong season and playoff-run in the AJHL, wrapping up his junior career.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons captain also spent parts of three seasons in the QMJHL, playing 127 games.

He posted 35 points in the 'Q,' as well as 49 points in 54 games this season with the Barons.

Akkouche will join the Lakers for the 2025-26 OUA season.

I chose Nipissing University to play hockey because of the strong program and the opportunity to compete at a high level while pursuing my education. The team culture and supportive coaching staff also played a big role in my decision, making it feel like the perfect fit for both my athletic and academic goals."
