Things certainly quickly added up against the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team the last few days, as they were on the road for the first round of the OUA playoffs.

Having to hit the road, the Lakers arrived in Ottawa, but due to weather and field conditions, their game that was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, was delayed until Thursday, forcing the team to stay another night in a hotel while the Carleton Ravens sat and waited.

After all the waiting, the Lakers and Ravens hit the field in a windy setting which cause both teams to adjust their style.

A hard fought 90 minutes eventually saw the Ravens escape with a 1-0 and eliminate Nipissing from the post-season.

Despite the outcome, the Lakers put together another impressive season, qualifying for the playoffs for the fourth straight season and finishing fifth in the OUA East Division.

Due to the conditions, the game didn't see a tonne of offensive chances, but Grainger Munro was outstanding when called upon, as he made five highlight reel saves to keep the score 0-0 for close to 85 minutes before the Ravens broke through.

Nipissing had a best chance of the first half when Jean-Michel Paulin broke free down the right wing before sending a low ball across the top of the 6-yard box which went right past the Ravens defenders and keeper Felix Daigle, but there were no Lakers players to convert on the scoring opportunity.

A few more chances came up empty for Nipissing, as they fell just short of the victory.

All in all, the Lakers have nothing to hang their heads about after another season where they showed they can compete and beat some of the OUA's top teams.
