After a solid effort, but tough loss Saturday, the Nipissing Lakers women's soccer bounced back in a big way Sunday afternoon against RMC.

The Lakers controlled the game, scored early and often on their way to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Paladins.

Andrea Young led the way with two goals, including the game-winner just four minutes into the game, while Madison Logan and Megan Clarke added singles.

Young opened up the scoring in the fourth minute, tapping home a loose ball, just seconds after she missed a glorious chance.

It took her just another five minutes to score her second of the game and sixth of the season, making no mistake on her chance.

Before the end of the half, Logan scored her second goal of the weekend and third of the season to extend the Lakers lead.

Up 3-0 after the first half, Nipissing added a fourth and final goal in the second half as Megan Clarke capped off the Nipissing offence.

From there, the team closed things out and earned their second win of the season and grabbed three points in the process.

Mykaela Volpe and Jess Moran shared the shutout, each making two saves.

Nipissing outshot RMC 14-4 through 90 minutes.

Next up, the Lakers will face Laurentian at home on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Scollard Hall, as the Riley Gallo Cup wraps up and the 705 Challenge Cup continues.

Game time is set for 6:15pm that night.
