Box Score It wasn't the trip to the Nation's Capital the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team was hoping for.
The Lakers, playing their lone game of the weekend, fell 4-0 to the Carleton Ravens Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens, who are nationally ranked, scored three times in the first half and added a single in the second half to pick up their second win over Nipissing this season.
Andrew Johnstone was tagged with the loss, making five saves in 60 minutes of play.
Achuthan Shanmugaratnam closed out the game in net.
Looking to bounce back and return to the win column, the Lakers will host the Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues this weekend at home, as part of Nipissing Homecoming.
First up, it's the Rams, who are second in the division, just behind Carleton.
The Rams will enter the weekend undefeated, sitting at 6-0-1 through the first part of the season.
On Sunday, Toronto will make their way north to face the Lakers in what should be a pretty crucial game early in the year.
Toronto is currently three points up on Nipissing for fourth place in the East Division.
The two teams will face each other in the final weekend of the season, as well, meaning points head-to-head will be key down the stretch.
Both games, Saturday and Sunday are set for 2:15pm at the Education Centre Field, located at Nipissing University.
