Box Score Coming off a dominant win Saturday over Ontario Tech, the Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team was looking to complete a perfect weekend Sunday afternoon.

The Lakers welcomed the visiting Carleton Ravens – the only team to defeat the Lakers so far this season – to town looking to avenge a 1-0 loss earlier this season.

In a back and forth game, a late goal gave Nipissing a 2-2 draw, completing an undefeated weekend.

It was the Ravens who struck first, just past the 20-minute mark, taking advantage of a quick break and finding the back of the net.

It didn't take long for the Lakers to reply, however, as they tied things up less than two minutes later as Cassidy Brooks continues her terrific season.

She buried her ninth of the season, assisted by Alicia McMurren to even the game.

In the second half, with the score deadlocked it was once again the Ravens who jumped out in front.

Carleton buried a goal to go up 2-1 early in the second half – just minutes in.

The score remained that way until the final seconds when Jessica Emmerton played the hero, scoring to tie the game.

Jennifer Milligan earned the assist as she was able to keep the play alive allowing Emmerton to bang home the loose ball.

A minute late, the final whistle blew and each team walked away with a point.

The weekend gives the Lakers a 4-1-2 record, good for second place in the OUA East Division.

Next for the Lakers is a trip down Highway 17 to face their rivals, the Laurentian Voyageurs.

The game which is this year's Riley Gallo Cup, as well as part of the 705 Challenge Cup, is set for Saturday at noon.
