The Nipissing Lakers ringette team claimed Division 2 bronze at the University Challenge Cup just after Christmas.
The team hit the road and headed to Ottawa, eventually earning a win in the second division bronze medal game.
In the original round robin portion, the Lakers played four games, finishing with a record of 1-3.
They began the tournament defeating the Regina Cougars 3-2, but dropped games to Laurier 9-1, Guelph 6-5 and Ottawa 9-2.
In the second round robin portion of the event, the Lakers once again went 1-3, falling to Carleton, Waterloo and Laurentian, but defeating McMaster to put themselves in the bronze medal game.
Facing the third place Waterloo Warriors, the Lakers came away with a 7-4 victory, earning the bronze.

Next up for Nipissing their lone home game of the year, hosting the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 3pm at Pete Palangio.
Following that, the Lakers will hit the road again and head to Guelph to close out the season with one final tournament.
