The Nipissing Lakers ringette team wrapped up their pre-Christmas action at the end of November in Sudbury with a pair of games.
The Lakers beat Laurentian 4-3 in the first of a pair of games and topped Timmins U19A 5-4 in the other matchup.
Nipissing has performed well in the four games to this point in the season.

Game 1 vs. Laurentian - L 6-1 (Oct. 30)
The Lakers needed some time to get their skates under them against a skilled Laurentian team.
Down 5-0 after first period, the Lakers rebounded with a better second but still came up short by a 6-1 final. Rookie
Madison Plaskett scored Nipissing's lone goal, assisted by fellow rookies
Sarah Smith and
Gemma Chatten.
The team shows a lot of promise with a roster of 70 per cent rookies.

Game 2 vs. Laurentian - L 4-3 (Nov. 20)
The Lakers played a phenomenal game and showed a huge improvement from their 6-1 loss earlier in the season.
They out hustled Laurentian all game. A couple of tough penalties to swallow with 1:48 left and the Voyageurs scored the go-ahead goal with 48 seconds left to spoil a great effort.

Game 3 vs. Laurentian – W 4-3 (Nov. 27)
Sarah Smith registered a hat-trick and
Lauryn Hamilton registered three assists in the win.
Gemma Chatten registered the other goal.

Game 4 vs. Timmins U19A – W 5-4 (Nov. 27)
In the afternoon, Nipissing took on Timmins U19A and came away with a 5–4 win.
Smith and
Melanie Brouse both hit the back of the net twice and
Joy Simpson registered the other goal for the win.

The Lakers record heading into the Christmas break sits at 2-2-0.
