Box Score 2 It was a big weekend for the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team as they picked up back-to-back road wins in London.
The Lakers grabbed a 4-1 win Friday night and a 6-1 win Saturday night over the Western Mustangs, improving to 10-6-5 on the season, good for fourth place in the OUA West Division.
Friday, after the Mustangs scored the lone goal of the first period, the Lakers stormed back with four straight to grab the win.
Down 1-0 after one, the Lakers tied the game in the second as
Harrison Caines found the back of the ent, scoring his first of two on the game.
Cole Stewart and Josh Anderson grabbed assists on the tying goal.
With the game tied 1-1, in the span of 10 minutes in the third, the Lakers buried three goals to come away with the victory.
Caines scored his second, while
Charlie Johnson and
Charles Farmer tallied to secure the two points for Nipissing.
Farmer and
Payton Vescio grabbed assists on the game-winner, while Farmer and Johnson set each other up, completing multi-point efforts.

Zach Roy was on top of his game, finishing with 40 saves in the win.
In the second game of the weekend,
Parker Bowman took control to secure a perfect weekend for the Lakers.
Caines kept scoring, putting the Lakers up 1-0 before
Jonathan Rees doubled Nipissing's lead late in the opening period.
Bowman scored his first of three to begin the second period, while Stewart scored again, making it 4-0 early in the middle frame.
Western replied with a goal of their own, but Bowman scored late in the second and again in the third to help Nipissing to a convincing win.

Payton Vescio and Caines all had assists during the six-goal outburst.
Roy was busy again and very good, finishing with 42 saves in the win.
The Lakers remain on the road next weekend, facing UQTR Friday night and McGill Saturday afternoon.
