Hamilton, ON — At the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship banquet held last night, Nipissing University's Annika Nolte was honoured as a U SPORTS First Team All-Star, capping off an outstanding season that has firmly cemented her place among the elite in Canadian university soccer.
Nolte, a fourth-year student in the Bachelor of Physical Health & Education program, led the OUA in goals with 12 in the regular season and added 2 more in the playoffs. Her 12 regular season goals placed her second in the nation and third in total points, showcasing her dominance on the pitch and her consistency throughout the season.
Her accolades this season include:
Beyond her athletic achievements, Nolte is also a leader off the field, serving as co-President of the Lakers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for the 2025–26 academic year. She also received Academic All-Canadian honours in 2023-24 and 2024-25. She will continue her academic and athletic journey next year at Nipissing in the Bachelor of Education program.
Sarah Batley, Director of Athletics at Nipissing University, praised Nolte's impact:
"Annika exemplifies what it means to be a Laker — she's a fierce competitor, a thoughtful leader, and a dedicated student. Her record-breaking season is a reflection of years of hard work and commitment, and we couldn't be prouder of her accomplishments both on and off the field."
Head Coach David Bitonti added:
"Annika had an incredible season and was a difference-maker for us from start to finish. She played in every game and consistently elevated our attack, finishing as both our team's and league's top goal scorer — setting a new program record in the process. What's most impressive is how intentional her development has been over the past three seasons. She's put in the work year-round, investing time in her offseason training and embracing every challenge in our team environment. Annika's competitiveness, commitment, leadership, and growth have been outstanding, and she's truly earned every bit of recognition that has come her way."
As Nolte wraps up her fourth season with the Lakers, her achievements stand as a testament to her talent, leadership, and dedication. Her journey is not over yet, but her 2025 season will be remembered as one of the most remarkable in Nipissing soccer history.
