Box Score 2 North Bay, ON – Nipissing Men's Basketball dropped two games on the road this past weekend.
Friday, November 28th, the Lakers traveled to the Goldring Centre in Toronto, Ontario, for a match-up with the Varsity Blues.
The first quarter was a close affair, with Toronto winning 17-16. The Blues then won the second quarter 30-24 to lead 47-40 at halftime.
The Blues won the third 22-12, and took a 69-52 lead into the fourth quarter. Nipissing finished strong, winning the fourth 14-13, but losing 82-62 overall.
Alex Blackmore lead the Lakers in scoring with 14 points in the game. Blackmore added 2 rebounds. Mateja Vukic scored 13 points and added 6 rebounds. Bryan Oswald-Ayih added 12 points and 2 steals. Jeziyah Excell-Johnson score 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals. The Lakers had 20 points from players off the bench in the game.
Then, Saturday, November 29th, the Lakers took on the TMU Bold at Mattamy Athletics Centre in Toronto to complete the second leg of their road-trip.
Nipissing won the first quarter 20-17, but the Bold ran away in the second quarter, scoring 32 to Nipissing's 10. TMU led 49-30 at halftime.
The third quarter was a closer affair, with TMU scoring 20 and Nipissing potting 18, but the the Bold closed the second half like the first, scoring 26 to the Lakers 11. The Bold won 95-59.
Chris-Evrard Malonga scored 20 points and added 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 3 blocks. Alvin Icyogere scored 11, and added 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Jeziyah Excell-Johnson had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The losses move Men's Basketball to 3-9 on the season.
The Lakers will be back in action on January 9th, 2026, when they travel to St. Catharines for a matchup with the Brock Badgers. Tip-off is 8PM live on OUA.tv.
