North Bay, Ontario – Nipissing Men's Basketball is excited to announce the addition of forward Arnas Samaitis to the program.
 
Samaitis, who hails from London, England, spent the 2025-26 season with Malcolm X Community College in Chicago, Illinois. Arnas appeared in 33 games, starting in 30, and averaged 7.5 points per game.
 
"My play style is unique. I adapt well to however the team needs to me to play in the situation" Arnas said when asked to describe his play style.
 
"I chose Nipissing because I believe that is the perfect school and team setting that I can show my worth as a basketball player" Samaitis said when asked why Nipissing was his choice of school.
 
"Academics are important to me and Nipissing's business program was a large factor in my decision to commit to Coach Cory's program."
 
"We are excited to add Arnas to the program" Lakers Head Coach Thomas Cory said. "Arnas is a versatile player who can drive and shoot the ball well. He can play and guard multiple positions which is big for our group."

Arnas was named league MVP in his senior year of high school. He also took home MVP honours in his school's regional championship game.
 
Arnas was asked what his expectations are for himself and the team this coming year.
 
His response was clear - "I just want to win."
