North Bay, Ontario – Nipissing Lakers Men's Basketball is proud and excited to announce the signing of James Waterhouse to the program for 2026-27 and beyond.  

Waterhouse, a native of Lymington, England, is a 6'6 forward/center. James spent last season with the Reading Rockets of the United Kingdom EABL. In 12 games with Reading, Waterhouse averaged 6.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1 block per game. 

James and the Rockets took home the league championship, which he noted as a major accomplishment in his basketball career. 

"I like a fast-paced but controlled style of play" Waterhouse said. "I like to move the ball efficiently. I'm a good rebounder, as well." 

"When asked what expectations he had for himself and his new team, Waterhouse said "I want to perform to the best of my ability during games and improve as much as possible."  

"I want our team to perform at high standards and finish high in the standings." 

"James is a hardworking player who puts the team first" Lakers Head Coach Thomas Cory said of Waterhouse's commitment to the program. "We're excited to welcome James to the Lakers this fall and to continue to watch his development next season and moving forward." 

"I chose Nipissing because Coach Cory and the Lakers have a high standard of basketball. I wanted to carry on my academic career at a high-level university, which Nipissing is."
