North Bay, ON – Nipissing Lakers Nordic Skiing is proud to announce the commitment of 2026 recruit Audrey Rieckenberg to the program.
 
Rieckenberg, a native of Orillia, Ontario, is pursuing teaching in Nipissing's Bachelor of Education program.
 
Audrey began skiing in the Jackrabbits at Hardwood Ski and Bike program at a young age and has always enjoyed the sport.
 
"Our coaches have been impressed watching new recruit Audrey at races this season" said Lakers Nordic Head Coach Toivo Kovukoski.
 
"Audrey's background as a varsity cross-country runner, and more recently in competitive cycling, means that she brings a strong base of endurance training. She has a solid technical basis in skiing, and her ski speed will improve with her time spent with fast teammates and technique coaching."
 
Rieckenberg has already gelled with her future teammates and promises to build depth on the women's side of the team.
 
"The team and coaching at Nipissing are known to be a positive and hard-working environment. I look forward to having them support my training and racing next year."
