Toronto, Ontario – Nipissing Lakers Women's Soccer completed two matches on the road this past weekend in OUA regular season action.
 
Saturday, September 5^th saw a 12PM kick off as the Lakers visited the Toronto Metropolitan University Bold.
 
TMU opened the scoring at the 6-minute mark of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. TMU would have the only yellow card of the half drawn against them at the 30-minute mark. The Bold lead 1-0 after 45 minutes of play.
 
At the 52-minute mark of the match, the Bold doubled their lead on the Lakers, taking a 2-0 advantage.
 
Nipissing would strike at minute 82 as Hannah Neville scored her second goal of the season, unassisted, to get the Lakers within one.
 
The Lakers fought hard to even the tally at two but it was TMU who took a 2-1 win. Shots in the match were 10-6 for Nipissing. Each side had 2 corner kicks, and TMU lead the match with 10 saves to Nipissing's 2.
 
Then, on Sunday, September 6, the Lakers were back in action for another noon kickoff, this time the University of Toronto Varsity Blues the opposition.
 
Nipissing's Annika Nolte netted her first goal of the season at 23:19 in the first half, giving the Lakers and important early lead. Hannah Neville picked up the lone assist on the goal.
 
Nolte's tally would stand for the entirety of the match as the Lakers picked up an important road win over the defending OUA champs, 1-0.
 
Lakers rookie goalkeeper Brooke McMurren made her first OUA start on Sunday and managed to stop all 3 Toronto shots on net for her first career clean sheet in the win.
 
The weekend split gives the Lakers a 1-2 record on the season, good for 3 points in as many games.
