North Bay, ON - Nipissing Lakers Men's Hockey is excited to announce the signing of defender Antonio Baldassarre for the remainder of the 2025/26 OUA season.
Baldassarre, hailing from Toronto, Ontario, was previously playing with Croatian club KHL Sisak of the Alps Hockey League in Croatia this season. Baldassarre appeared in 14 games for the club.
In 2024-25, Antonio split time between the OJHL's King Rebellion and MJHL's Winnipeg Freeze, playing in 17 total games between the clubs. Baldassarre recorded 4 assists for the Freeze.
"We were looking to add depth to our depleted defensive unit because of a number of long term injuries" said Nipissing Head Coach
Mike McParland about the signing. "We hope that Antonio can come in and complement the defender group that we have. They have played well together the first half of the season, and we're excited to get the second half started in a few weeks time."
Men's Hockey begins their 2026 portion of their schedule on Saturday, January 10th with a match up in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, with UQTR. Puck drop goes at 4PM live on OUA.tv.
