MEN’S SOCCER: Tony D’Agostino Steps Down as Head Coach of Men’s Soccer

North Bay, ON – Nipissing University Athletics has announced that Tony D'Agostino has stepped down as head coach of the Lakers men's soccer program.

D'Agostino concludes his second tenure leading the Lakers, having returned to the program in 2017. During his time with Nipissing, he brought experience and knowledge of the OUA and supported the continued development of the men's soccer program.

During his second tenure, D'Agostino led the Lakers back to OUA playoff competition in 2018, including a first‑round playoff victory. The program also qualified for the OUA playoffs in 2022, 2023, and 2024, highlighted by a run to the OUA semifinals in 2022 and a program‑record regular season point total in 2024.

The University would like to thank Tony for his contributions to the men's soccer program and for his service to Nipissing University Athletics.

Lakers alumnus and current assistant coach Deven Doodnath will assume the role of Interim Head Coach and will lead the program while the search for a permanent head coach is completed. The department remains focused on building a positive, competitive, and student-centred program and looks forward to the next chapter of Lakers men's soccer.
