North Bay, Ontario – Nipissing Men's Soccer opened their 2026 season with a big 3-0 win at home against Royal Military College on Saturday, August 29.
The Lakers opened the scoring quickly in the first half as
Joaquin Clarke made no mistake at 1:51, giving the home side an early 1-0 advantage.
Nipissing struck again in the first half as
Caelan Walraven scored his first of the campaign to double the Lakers lead at 2-0, which is where things stood after the first 45 minutes of play.
The teams traded possessions to begin the second half with either side eyeing the next important tally in the match.
Marius Doucet got the Lakers up to a 3-0 lead at the 71
st minute, scoring a crucial goal inside the box to put this match out of reach for RMC.
Nipissing took the content 3-0 for their first win of the year in as many games.
Nipissing finished the match with 13 shots, 10 of which being on goal. RMC had 2 shots, 1 being on net.
The Paladins had 7 saves in the match, whereas Nipissing goalkeeper
